Laid Omeri was born in Albania and raised in Chicago. He graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the Illinois Institute of Technology where he received the Peterhans Award for Visual Traning. His professional interests include small-scale architecture, adaptive reuse of existing structures, and the generative potential of model making and drawing. Outside the studio, you might find Laid making small functional objects for his personal use, documenting everyday inhabitation behavior or photographing the sky.
