The Grand Crossing Innovation Exchange is a technical training and co-working hub which provides an inviting space in the Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood of Chicago for talent and opportunity to intersect. The 50,000 square foot building consists of common spaces, enclosed and open and enclosed office workspace, shared conference rooms, lounges, amenities, a café, daycare center and outdoor spaces where building users of all ages can collaborate and connect. Designed to be friendly and welcoming, the structure features open, loft-like spaces with abundant daylighting under an undulating roof. The angular form of the building is informed by the trapezoidal shape of the site. A corrugated metal façade continues beyond the building enclosure to create an entry courtyard at the north end and a playground at the south end of the site.
